This method was created by The Climate Reality Project Brazil and systematized after the first charter was written in the Maré Complex in Rio de Janeiro. The charters are always written in partnership with local organizations in the territories. Any organization that wants to build a Climate Rights Charter in its territory can access our methodology free of charge. In 2023, the course “Building Climate Rights Charters” was launched to further democratize access to this methodology.
